It was a wee bit chilly!
Hi everyone!
First of all, I have to thank Mary a million times and then some for planning this whole trip, the best trip to the mountains of Colorado EVER!!! It was really the best time I could have spent with both Mary and Elena before all of us leave the country for our own amazing adventures! Thank you!
And now for the fun …
Thanksgiving at Breck
Sunshine!
Today we woke up ready to roll. We made it to the lift right when it opened at 9am and were some of the first people to make it onto the trails. The weather was much better than Monday; sun shining and no snow falling. We ventured out to peak 9 and tried out some blues. Unfortunately, about 3 hours into our adventure, someone's leg muscles started to give out (no names mentioned). For the safety ...
Hitting the Slopes!
We woke up excited and ready to hit the slopes. Our cottage is in the perfect location; on Main St and only 1 block away from the gondola. Once we got to the lodge at peak 8, we quickly realized we needed to do some shopping. Glove liners, check, second mask, check. We're ready! Or so we thought... Turns out, skiing in -25 windchill is much more miserable ...
Changes in Altitude
Just woke up at the Inn of the Anasazi; drinking coffee by our adobe fireplace. We're gonna get ready, pack up and try to walk Sadie. She has been reluctant to potty since arriving in colder weathers. Its forecasted to snow all day today and we will be driving over 5 mountain passes so hold onto your hat! Breckenridge, here we come! After driving ...

TravelPod Member ReviewsThe Lodge And Spa At Breckenridge
Everyone was very accommodating and helpful. The free shuttle down into town was great and convenient. And the hot tubs were super!

Historical Traveler Reviews The Lodge And Spa At Breckenridge
Good Value
While not "luxurious" we thought the place was fine. It has a cozy feeling and the service staff was very accomodating. I'll agree the carpet was stained, but I try to not spend any time anyway on hotel carpets! The location was great - nice views. The facilities were good - fitness rooms and spa, and the restaurant view was amazing.
My only complaint is the water temp in the showers varied from hot to cold during each shower, and the rooms were quite hot. Couldn't seem to get the thermostat turned down enough so we slept with the balconey door open!
I'd stay there again certainly, and the price was excellent for what it was.
More beautiful than imagined
This is an enchanting spot with great views and classic charm. A great healing for the overworked mind and body. All you had to do was ask if you had a need or want---the staff was great.
There is a relaxed appeal and although not perfect the staff tries to address all expectations.
Part of the character is its age and beautiful blemishes. I loved that pets were welcome.
Don't miss out on this uncomparable view and cozy comfort.
I should have listened...
After reading mixed reviews online here, I contacted the hotel directly via email prior to our stay. My partner and I are convinced there is simply a different (lower) standard in Breckenridge for lodging. The location was lovely, the restaurant was fantastic. I didn't have a chance to partake int he spa, (too busy clombing mountains) but it's seemed to be nice. The "kitchenette" is really a dirty microwave and small refrigerator. The dishes were not clean (which we've found typical of condos in the area), the carpet was filthy. Stained and not vaccuumed, and the room had clearly not been dusted. (Not a high-maintenance requirement, rather we have allergies to be considered!) All of those details missing are forgivable, but that I had to call (TWICE) to have my bedclothes changed during a three-night stay was ridiculous. Not each night, I can understand and appreciate overnight sheets being left on, but we had a spill and the housekeeping just threw the covers back up (didn't actually MAKE the bed) on the dirtied sheets.
If it were a bargain hotel, that would be understandable, but it isn't. We will not stay there again.
The Lodge was just Beautiful
We just got back from Breckenridge and had an Awesome time!!! The Lodge was beautiful, just what we wanted!! The staff was great, helped us whenever we needed driving directions to get to different places. Our room was great, we upgraded to a mountain view....worth the extra $10 a day!!!
Just want to say thanks for the great hospitality and we'll see you again real soon!
Thank God for the Lodge and Spa at Breckenridge!
I've lived part of each year in Denver, Colorado, for 10 years and I've been going to Breckenridge 1 or 2 weekends a month while I'm there the entire time. And I am so grateful for the Lodge and Spa! I found this Jewel a few years back and haven't stayed anywhere else since. You can't beat the views, the cozy lodge-style charm (including the double fireplaces in the main lobby over-looking the Breck valley), the cleanliness, the well-maintained and well-furnished rooms and facilities, the hot-tubs, the spa and pool, and most of all the first-name-friendly and always smiling and available management and staff. I am perplexed by the negative comments written about it - after spending dozens of weekends at this hotel I've simply never seen or experienced any of those negative remarks. The management and staff keep the place in ship shape and treat their guests with a very refreshing home-style touch. And I've recommended it to tens of friends, family members and acquaintances and have only heard very positive feedback from them as well. Keep up the good work Lodge and Spa!
Perfect Mountain Getaway...
This was an absolute diamond in the rough... It has the high class "lodge" feeling, yet I didn't feel out of place with blue jeans on. I love that pets are allowed... it has a blast from the past charm. It gives you a getaway world from the real life crap we all face. Nancy was a wonderful hostess as were all of the employees, making you feel relaxed and every bit as welcome as the millionaire next door. What a beautiful view... it stings me to read the negative comments... if those people wanted the Ritz Carlton, that's where they should've booked a room... this is a mountain lodge getaway not a New York City show room. A beautiful place with excellent staff... I'll go again!
Great Staff
Our traveling group of 9 people stayed for four nights at this lodge. The staff, especially Dawn, were very helpful. The rooms were above average and the bargin price was great. The continental breakfast included waffles and a variety of other choices. We are definitely planning a return trip.
We loved this place!
I was a bit nervous about this hotel given the bargain price, but The Lodge & Spa far exceeded our expectaions! The views from this hotel are astounding. The front desk staff was very kind & helpful & recognized us by name during our stay. There were always snacks, coffee & tea in the lobby by the 2-sided fireplace. The breakfast was outstanding - yummy waffles! The hot tubs & indoor pool were terrific - well taken care of & perfectly situated. Our room could have used some fresh carpet, but that is as close as I can get to a complaint. And how upset can you get with Aveda toiletries to soothe the nerves???
We will definitely be back!
Wonderful visit.
This is a special place. My wife and I spent three days there and never regreted a minute of the time. The food is excellent, the service is good, and the spa facilities are wonderful. Our massages were first rate and worth the money. The Sales and Marketing Manager, Lesley, made this experience far better than we could have hoped for. Look her up!
Not impressed
I had high hopes for this hotel. It was always a place I had wanted to stay. We picked it for our one year wedding anniversary. The view was great! The hot tub and pool were wonderful, contrary to other reviews. But the room was not well furnished. The bathroom was small. And I found our room to be dirty - stains on the carpet, dustwebs in the corner. Happy that we only stayed one night.
