... which were way above our budget!! I haggled with the cheaper one and got the room for the night plus a taxi to the airport the next day for a high price but much less than they first suggested!  Only problem was when we woke up at  5.40 the next morning there was no taxi and different guys on reception.... After some more subdued yelling we finally got one of them to drive us to the airport and arrived just before check in closed... Yikes... Travel ...

... when I bought the ticket. I find out the bus to Aleppo doesn't leave until 11:00am. I have no Turkish Lira left, so I decide to wait to eat until Syria, which I expect to be in by 1:00pm. Also had to give up my passport to the bus company (my passport has not left my side in 7 months) and told I will get it back on the bus.

11 rolls around, no bus. Talk to a guy from Damascus at the bus station wearing a sweater with Ottawa written on it. Turns out he is ...
