... 400 hundred year old pub. Our four hour trip turned into seven!!! We only had that planned for today so it didn't really matter. The castle began its life as a pig farm in Saxon times but soon became a moated manor house. The only original remaining part of the castle today is part of the moat. Well left Birmingham for a 4 hour trip to the castle. Throw in a lost Belgian busdriver, an uncertain Slovenkian, and a crash on a major road, the trip became an all day expedition! ... Volvo we didn't notice. On arrival we missed the entrance and luckily we found a 3M factory just down the road with a very large car park, so Phil didn't need to do a 10 point turn!
