... but after being unable to find a place to sleep in Boulogne or the internet we made our way once again back to Calais. This time we grabbed some food at a little seafood restaurant and then when we were out of ideas we went back to the campsite for another night. We were dirty but at least we had a place to sleep!
Calais gave us food and a place to stay so what else could we ask for!

... about the same time as I spied Big Ben I saw the banners. As I moved closer, I could see the individual activists and the crowd below.

When I first arrived, there was not much activity on the roof. One or two were asleep, lying across the roof peak. Apparently, I had missed a rally earlier in the day. Most of the crowd took pictures. I admit I took a great many, mostly because I'm not sure ...

It's 4.15 and guess who can't sleep? Woke up at 4 in a bit of a panic after only going to bed at midnight because packing took so long. Ended up taking about half of my stuff out of my rucksack (mainly clothes) but I'm sure I'll get by. It hasn't actually hit me still that we are going, or how much I am going to miss even just hot showers and being in my bed, seeing my parents everyday etc, let alone how much I am going to miss all my people ...

... 3 hours 45 mins to get to Pune(a mere 100
miles). This is when I start realising that possibly half of this trip
might be spent travelling.

But that doesn’t bother me one little bit. On the contrary, it gets me
more excited and anxious. I have always wanted to see India but not
from a Limo window or from an aircraft window. I want to see India ‘Up,
Close & Personal’.

We set off to France today for a new period in our life in Europe.
Work still chugs on, but with only 12 shifts in 42, we have plenty of time to ourselves.
We decided those "spare" 30 days should be spent in Europe.

I'll skip over the months of research and prep work and bring us up to today where we are now on the 4pm ferry instead of the 2pm ...

She made us very welcome and surpassed herself by serving Christmas dinner to us and her friends who had all been working over the festive period.
