So I take it back - St. Martins Lane in London is no longer my favorite hotel in the world - The Legian in Seminyak, Bali, is my new favorite hotel. Jesus H. Christ this place is ridiculous. It was a little disconcerting at first, I must say - my driver from Ubud Sari Resort stopped at the main entrance, and normally at a 5-star hotel that's when you get out and they start helping you with your luggage, right? Well, no. Here, since the bombings, every high class hotel hires security with DOGS...

Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia hantyandhunnah... i' just thrilled to have my own room. Rafting Rafting was fun although the guilds didn't seem to know what they were doing and we sorta just drifted our way down the river as we slammed into walls rocks and trees sorta made it more fun then avoiding all the dangerous obstacles the highlight at the end was the 4m drop. An odd thing was the naked villagers that we kept floating by who were washing themselves and ...
Kuta, Bali, Indonesia senorbrian... cages with a hen in,just one in each well there was no room for anything else, this again was only going to take us 30mins but took nearly 2 hours, still it's all good fun,our hotel was lovely so we decided to stay for the fortnight, although we would have liked to have been nearer the bus route, this was about 3k away along a pot holey dusty road, so we decided on a driver his name was jem & would take us anywhere at next to nothing, in the end we were ...
Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia minimanor...
Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia doro... we've been everywhere but have a nice selection to choose from. So what is it that attracts us, first and foremost, it's the people. They are proud of their home, friendly, open and always have a minute to chat. After you get through the "where you going", "where you been" and "do you need transport", the conversation will change. They are very religious and superstitious at the same time. When ...
Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia eddieandlynn... paradise. Days of lounging by the clear water of the ocean on those too-comfortable Horizontal loungers. Nights of imbibing on Bali bought alcohol. Free entertainment on Eugene's laptop, affordable numbing of the senses, walking the lengths of Sentral, biking around the entirety of the island for the first time, and unreal settings of the sun, of course... Ultimately, we ended up spending a total of 20 nights over the course of two visits to this beautiful place. And I already miss it again.
Bali, Indonesia ana.k... exactly where she is in town if you like, you need to make an appt, shes quite popular, because of the book you know, she even has her own copy of it in her studio..." I bet she does , I answer.....no thats okay, I am okay on my own. Then the woman explains how she had a bad hip, and other various health issues that were way too much information for someone in a less than 10 minute conversation, and how the healer gave her a massage that helped ...
Ubud, Indonesia elizacass... ragout. I had to move twice and then ended up at the bar with no one else around. When it was time to go home, I had to walk through calf high water to get to a taxi. By this time it was only about 8 pm. I passed by some bars in a taxi but no one was venturing out, so I made my way home to watch a DVD. Next time I'll take galoshes.
Seminyak, Indonesia robinred... in the pool later too. Haroki and his fam had moved to Perth 2 years ago so he spoke a bit of English but would look to his dad for translations every once in a while. Cutest dimples. He was 5 years old. So very cute! Not as talkative or social as Charlie had been but he would answer all of the questions we asked that he understood. He was a funny little swimmer as well. Yay to cute kids! After that, I showered and got packed. LT had wanted to ...
