Had a perfect travel day yesterday. Actually got away early, 8:45, and had beautiful cold clear weather all day. It was only once we got close to Portland that we saw any snow at all and there it was only deep in the bush. But shortly after we stopped for the night the snow started. It looks like we got about 3" overnight. Luckily we're heading south! Had great Chinese food last night. Who knew we'd find it in Maine! Here's what morning looked like - winter ...

We woke up this morning in our hotel room that housed the shower in a cupboard. Before our tour of the House of 7 Gables in Salem we wandered back to Marblehead to take photos of the cute little coloured houses and the beautiful mansions. Such a great little place. We then ventured back to Salem. Salem You know that feeling when you start a tour, and know from the very first second it's going to be the longest 45 minutes of your life, but there's no escape? ...

... fresh…It was just an amazing sight!

I had breakfast which was so nice…they had muffin tops, fruit, eggs, bacon and toast…and they loved how I ate ketchup with my eggs..I think it is more of an Aussie thing :) I met Cindy the other owner, and she was just a darling! I really loved her! I sat and ate and relaxed for about an hour talking to her and another guest. She was just so nice, and the conversation was just on general things but meeting local people like ...
