... the sign was beyond repair and a new sign was recreated from scratch. At midnight on 1 January 2000, the new Pegasus, complete with rotation, was lit for the first time. A copy of the original sign, which sat atop a Mobil Oil station in the Casa Linda neighborhood of Dallas for many decades, is now on display at the Old Red Museum.

... after eating we walked to the World Aquarium and stayed there for about 2 hours then we made some final shopping search at Walmart, Target, Ross etc in the area until it was time to deliver the rented car back at Dallas Airport and went in for our flights.

... the rain. But, David (the landlord) said that the township sprays for mosquitoes. They have trucks that go up and down all the roads/streets and spray. Plus, they have been doubling up on their schedule because of the rainfall. We have gone for walks every day and have not been bothered by mosquitoes. A token entry...one night in a hotel in Dallas on the way home. I can't even remember which 'Courtyard by Marriott' hotel I stayed in. I was just grateful I found (eventually) a vacancy on a busy Friday night...way too tired to hang around the airport being hassled by security guards until the morning.
