And so after a long flight - 12+ hours - we arrived in Paris, grabbed a quick drink and then on to Birmingham. Unfortunately, Pat's suitcase decided to stop off in Paris but will hopefully be delivered tomorrow! Back to a sunny UK, with a temperature not much cooler than Hanoi yesterday, where the blossom is in full swing. Lots of memories of a lovely holiday. ...

It was very dark and wet when we woke up to the alarm. Leanne arrived as planned and drove us to the airport. Unfortunately, as we left the M6 there was a huge tail back where we needed to go, presumably due to an accident.. We sat in it for a while, moving 100yds in 10 mins. Action was needed so we headed off towards Tamworth where we saw signs towards Coleshill. At least that was vaguely in the right direction. Between my limited knowledge and Leanne's iPhone, ...

Stirling once again thanks Malcolm for looking after him when he broke his finger here earlier in the tour and tells a story, mimicking Malcolm's very broad West Country accent. ... 20 overs. A flurry of activity in the last couple of overs, with Vinnie making a good 26 off 35 balls, saw us reach a defendable total of 7/153.

After another good feed, I wander over to the banks of the Avon River which runs right past the ground. There are several guys pole-fishing and I watch how he uses a small slingshot to send a half-dozen maggots out into the water near where his baited hook is ...

... amp; cream. Back in the car for the trip home and Stirling is following us. We are using the GPS of course while Stirling is relying on his rat cunning and intimate knowledge of the local area. At one turn -off he flashed his lights at us to tell us he thinks we have gone the wrong way. We ignore him. He turns around and goes the alternate way. We ignore him.

We get back to the hotel 10 minutes before him. We win !!
