      This morning it was back into Harvestor for a continental breakfast. It was a lot quieter today without "Thomas" and family. Ian phoned his Dad and brother fr their birthdays.       Awaking to gum leaves outside the window, we were able to fully appreciate the glory of the Eagle Hotel in daylight. Breakfast was good although, as another guest said to her mother when she's asked for her eggs cooked a certain way 'don't ask for miracles.'

      We travelled to Battle, a quaint little village with beautiful shops, most of which I couldn't stand up in. Battle is most famous as the location of the Battle of Hastings. We were able to walk around the battlefield ...

      ... scared silly.

      Afterwards, we went to the London Bridge and walked around the Borough markets. I had a glass of rather nice sangria. We went to lunch at the Wine Wharf which turned out to be terrible. The starters were great but the mains, well, needless to say, we both took one bite of our mains and literally spat them back up. It was that bad. It was all good though, because we left and now we have a funny story.
