      Great location/Lots of space

We stayed here with our two daughters 19 and 21 for 5 nights May 2005. These were the last 5 nights of an eighteen night vacation. It was wonderful to have the 2 full bedrooms, kitchen , livingroom and the quaint "sunroom/diningroom". Although the hallway carpets were a little dirty everything else was spotless. we found the staff extremly friendly and helpful with our questions and requests.

I do suggest requesting a high floor if city noise bothers you. We were on the 12th floor. The hotel was very secure as well as the parking.

My daughter felt the gym was too hot and pretty sparse but there is a gym.

Breakfast was good but all carbs.

The downtown location is a couple blocks from:Robson, couple blocks to water, close to Granville Island, we even walked to part of Stanley Park.

We had a NW view which enabled us to see city and mountains.

      The Best - Absolutely Wonderful!!!!

My husband and I stayed at the Landis Hotel from early December 2004 until beginning of February 2005. We usually go to Arizona for that time, but due to an illness, my husband had to stay in Canada this year. We were so fortunate to find the Landis Hotel for our prolonged stay as we had a beautifu suite on the 15th floor with a gorgeous view of the city and of False Creek. This was a two bedroom suite so we could accommodate our children and grandchildren periodically, as we can only see them occasionally. The daily service of the housekeeping staff was the best and our housekeeper always went out of her way to meet our needs (which she did not need to do). Our suite was meticulously clean and new towels and any supplies that we requested were provided daily.

The daily breakfast was available from 6:30 am to 10:00 am to accommodate the early risers and also the sleepy-heads. The pool and the excercise facilities were always very clean and plenty of nice, big fluffy towels were available.

The management and staff at the Landis became like family to us. They were always very professional and polite. I was sad when our time came to an end and we had to return home. We will definitely stay at the Landis Hotel again and have recommended to many of our friends. We could not have asked for a better experience for our winter holiday. Cheers to the Landis!!! Looking forward to seeing you soon. Jan

Great value for your money !!!!

I have been on the road for work for the past 16 months, and 6 months of that time has been spent on and off in Vancouver. I think I was VERY lucky to find the Landis. Eating, watching TV etc from the end of the bed or a chair gets pretty boring after a while. This is where the Landis changes that, two bedrooms, kitchen, livingroon, eating area, 3 TV's, and a great rate. You can cook or go out, free continental breakfast everyday, takes the "hotel" out of on the road hotel living. The rooms are clean and serviced daily, staff have been very helpfull and accommodating, and always been very friendly during my stays. I have recommended the Landis to others from my company who in turn have also stayed at the Landis. They all enjoyed themselves, and like the suites so they continue to stay at the Landis when in Vancouver.

Due to my extensive treavel I am entitled to the best rooms with all the "perks" in numerous of the BIG NAME Hotel chains, but when in Vancouver, I my opinion, they can't even compete with the Landis and what it has to offer. Too bad they weren't a chain and had hotels throughout Canada & USA, it would make my stays in other cities more enjoyable.

Best Value for a Goodnight Stay

We stayed at the Landis Hotel for a week during the week of the Sun Run. With our experience travelling a lot to different places in the US, Canada and Europe, I should say this hotel has the best value for the rooms they have -generous size. The suite we stayed was even too big for my partner & I. We felt like walking in your own home. This hotel would also suit families with children. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends, family & collegues who are planning to visit Vancouver, BC this year.

      Never again

I have been staying at the Landis for about seven years and have seen the property decline from a clean and well kept property to a slipshod and dirty facility with a staff who becomes immediately defensive and sometimes threatening.

When we arrived on a Friday evening, they did not have the reservation that I had confirmed on two occasions. They then assigned us to another room, but when we went up to the room, it was already occupied by other guests. When we returned to the front desk, they "upgraded" us to the penthouse, but it was obvious that they had no other available rooms and the penthouse was unoccupied.

Although the penthouse offers great views of the city, it was dirty and and unprepared for guests. Used chewing gum had been left on a lamp stand, one of the bathrooms had no soap or towels, old and moldy pizza had been left in the unclean oven, there was a used condom wrapper under the bed, and the carpet was un-clean. The outside terraces had trash left on them, including broken glass.

The list goes on, and I regret that I will no longer be able to stay there, since over the years I had enjoy the location of the hotel and the spacious rooms.

Caveat emptor! This property is in decline and is currently poorly managed by a staff who becomes defensive, hostilely so.

March 6th to march 14th and march 17th to march 20th.

I have just returned fom Vancouver today and I would advise anyone to stay at the landis. Very nice very clean suites lots of room for 4 adults.

excelent breakfast, nice staff and Managers.

      give it a go.

4 very happy people , lancashire England.

      Had a fantastic stay here!

I must say, this was the best value for me and my group of friends that I could find. Nine of us stayed in two rooms on the 11th floor, in one deluxe and one executive suite, each with two bedrooms.

The rooms are very nice-looking, clean, comfortable, and spacious with a great view of the city (minus the empty lot next door!). It was perfect for that many people because we could all hang out in the deluxe suite and there was plenty of room.

In particular, the staff were very friendly, helpful, and empathetic. I had left an important gift bag in a room the next morning with irreplaceable family photographs and I was worried that it had been thought of as trash. Later on that day, the man at the front desk went out of his way to check each cupboard, drawer, and closet in each room for me and assured me everything possible would be done to locate the missing bag after it didn't turn up. Luckily it had been found by housekeeping earlier but the front desk employee made sure everyone knew who I was so that when I kept calling back, they all knew the situation.

The only downside to my stay was that it went by so fast! I wanted to stay longer as I missed the breakfast and didn't get to check out the pool or fitness room.

A little frayed, but overall OK

I rated this hotel neutral, but it is somewhere above that, but not quite "above average", if you know what I mean! We have stayed at the Landis Suites twice in the last year. The rooms are a great size, with two bedrooms which are well separated, a living room and kitchen. Some rooms are better than others as far as noise goes (higher up is better)The central location is a real plus. The decor needs an update- the last time we were there the drapes in our room were frayed and the carpet had some spots. The dishes and glassware in the kitchen were mismatched and the pots looked like someone's old camping set! The rooms are clean and for the price, it's a reasonably good value, particularly for someone travelling with kids. There was a continental breakfast included with the room both times we stayed and this was a plus. We intend to stay here again, but hope they will address the needed cosmetic updates in the rooms.

      Landis Hotel

Super size two bedroom suite with easy access by free shuttle to all downtown locations. Unfortunately not double glazed and in a very noisy part of the city. Super floor to ceiling windows which did not help the noise but overall a very nice hotel with super friendly staff.

      Awesome Family Getaway....

Our family has stayed at the Landis Suite Hotel a few times in the last year. Each has been enjoyable, staff are helpful. Can walk to many attractions, free shuttle available (only runs till 5pm, a little early to shut down). The teenagers like the workout room, sharing it with the hotel next door can be confusing. On our first stay, my daughter and a friend were trapped in an elevator for half an hour, they had accidentally entered the wrong hotel..... They consider it a "sweet adventure"....

We finished off the day with a hot curry and beer. Sounds good but in fact was pretty average and expensive. Never mind.

On top of coconut rice it was yummy. Of course, the other half repeated his Pad ...

On this side of the bridge there was quite a bit to see too. We first passed the Raptor Ridge, where a couple of guides were stood with various birds of prey, just showing them to the public and talking about them. As we have seen birds of prey quite a lot, we ...

The show is a real spectacle with lots of fancy costumes and great lighting, but with singing tending to shouting a lot of the time. A lot of people love these shows, but we find them a bit frenetic with non-stop action. We have a towel seal on our bed, the first and only towel animal of the two cruises.
