Drove down several motorways from Stirling to Dumfries. Then to Caerlaverock Castle.
What a contrast from Stirling yesterday!

Caerlaverock is the ancient seat of the MAXWELL family and now no more than a splendid ruin in an idyllic settling. Fiona and Rowan had been there in 2006. ... all situated about 10mns walk from where our vans were pitched, and whilst I am virtually self sufficient in my van I have to empty my toilet cassette daily and there was no way I was going to carry that for half a mile. So each day I had to unhook the van and drive down to the facilities to empty the toilet and then drive back, apart from this the site was lovely.
At this new Rally there were about 8 vans that had moved on from Windermere and a further 10 that were new. ...
