... VISITING TEMPLES: While visiting places of worship and mausoleums there are certain religious customs to be observed in India. As a token of respect, it is customary to remove your footwear before entering all temples or religious sites. In Jain and Hindu temples leather goods such as belts, shoes and bags will not be permitted. Shoulders and knees should be covered when entering temples. In certain instances a head covering will also be required.

It is hard to get your head around the volume of water that flows over this ledge but essentially we are told its about a million bathtubs of water a second. The spray from the falls rises up higher than the falls themselves and then drift over the area feeling a little like you are in a sun shower.
