All of us were fairly slow starting this morning but we managed to make it to breakfast and even ate waffles which were amazing! We made a plan for the day and all went our own ways. A group of us headed down to the French markets to have a look at. ... stories of pet raccoons and nutria rats and had the uncanny ability to spot a camouflaged snake hiding in the grass while speeding along at full throttle. We were lucky enough to actually see a gator..their first sighting in 3 weeks and also found a cottonmouth snake (a venomous species of pit viper) and a multitude of turtles sunbathing on logs. Personally I was most excited to see the raccoons..just so damn cute! These little guys had a taste for sugar ...

And on to Philly. The airline did that thing again where they delayed my first flight by so much I was doing a Black Caviar to the connecting flight in Dallas. Seems to be the American way, though. The only person slightly perturbed by the frequency with which this happens appeared to be me. Clashes with my slightly uber-organised streak.

... World. We walked past the homes of Anne Rice, Sandra Bullock, and John Goodman. Our guide was awesome. I highly recommend using Walking Tours by Foot. There is no fee for the tour. You may tip the guide whatever you can afford or nothing at all. When we got back to the hotel the girls and I walked to an antique store we saw on Decatur Street. The furniture in the store was overpriced but the junk outside was awesome! ...
