... Treme (The Candlelight Lounge) which is the last remaining original bar post-Katrina in the Treme. I am not so keen because despite watching the series Treme, it is a dangerous area and tourists are warned to keep out of there. Milton, our guide yesterday (a Treme resident) reckons it's safe, but he drove us both in and out of the Treme. Paul says I'm alarmist, I think I am just being practical. ... French market to sample Gumbo. I had a seafood one, while Paul had chicken and sausage. Interesting but a tad spicy for my palette.

Canal Street was full of colourful horse drawn carriages and pedi-cycles all vying for space with cars and taxis. Maybe our bus decided it was too much so didn't come as per time table, but made us wait over an hour in the heat.
