... is about 30 miles west of Coeur d'Alene and most people remember it as the site of Expo '74--it's the smallest city ever to host a World's Fair. After the fair Riverfront Park was built on the same site. Most of our walk would be along the many trails in the park, including the Spokane River Centennial Trail which runs all the way to Lake Coeur d'Alene.

This all started last January when I took a picture of a Pink Promise HT Rose in my Arizona garden and included it in this blog with a note 'This Rose is for you Kent!’ I was being bad and sent the picture of the rose as a 'neener, neener, neener' to Kent knowing that he didn't have any roses blooming on Rock Hill ... ... are the mountains of the Cascades . . . as the train inches across . . . . I took some pictures . . . but by time we went to dinner . . . it was getting time to settle into our bunks . . . it isn't your own bed . . . but it was comfy . . . well, sort of!! There were outlets for all of the electronic devices to be on chargers . . . and the little room did have its own toilet and shower . . . more about that shower thing later!!

We came home and relaxed down at the lake with a book, which was very nice. This weekend has been a good rest, to catch up on sleep and everything so that we're ready for our last week of sightseeing and travelling around. It's also given us a chance to think about all the things we really want to see ...

Although we had planned to get up at 7 and on the road fairly early, neither of us had slept well the night before, so we decided to snooze for a little longer and got up at 8am instead.
