    A few miles after leaving Twillingate, we detoured from the main route to visit what was described by our guidebook as a "picturesque fishing village." We thought twice about going the extra six miles out of our way, but since we were already behind schedule, we figured it didn't much matter.     ... We went through Dildo (no comments from the peanut gallery!) Run Provincial Park on the way.

    Onward to Gander to spend the night, get some laundry done, and dry out.

    Tomorrow we are heading over to Bonavista, where the explorer John Cabot landed. Don't know if we will make it to Avalon Peninsula or not. Weather should be better tomorrow.....yippee!

    P.S.- the roads still suck.

    ... in was 33.6lbs. One more trip to Walmart for toothpaste and bodywash. We leave tomorrow afternoon with an overnight stay in St. John's. I miss my family already :(
