As part of my time here at Carnegie Mellon, I have been given the amazing opportunity to travel to Doha, Qatar over Spring Break to tour our Middle Eastern campus. The program is called IMPAQT (Initiating Meaningful Pittsburgh and Qatar Ties) and our goal is not only to foster relationships between the two campuses, but also promote a more hefty exchange program for semester or year-long study.
... one filled with giveaways. We have gone over and over again what to take and what not to take, but still someone, even the veterans, will forget something important. A few are still raising money for their trip as we write this, but God is faithful and always provides for the needs of those going.
It's time to go to Kenya. Be watching for regular updates as we make final preparations to go.
Mixed emotions today. We had to start trying to pack our stuff...what an effort! How did we end up with all this extra? Basically that took us all morning. Phew!
This afternoon we waited for Steve & Sarah to finish work so we could all go to the Kenny Chesney No Shoes Nation tour concert @ Heinz Field. We drove into Pittsburgh and had a bite to eat before we got on the ferry to cross the river to the concert.
... back door, Sarah says "Oh I forgot the appetisers, wait a second"...at this point I'm thinking "What, where are we going that we have to take our own appetisers???". Anyway, we get out the door and there in the back ally is Kandy, Paula and Hannah in the Chrysler. What the heck? So I am ushered into Sarah's car, we drive 50m up the ally and then Steve stops and says he forgot his phone. He gets out the car, and at this point I realise Aunt De is also behind Kandy ...
... a kid in candy shop, what a great morning!
