          ... station is a combination fuel, produce and gift shop and we both found things we just had to buy: me – apple cider, Wendell – fried apple pie. The cider is chilling now and I’m about ready for a glass. Wendell has the lawn chairs set up and we are going cook out.           Monday morning, we broke camp, said good-bye to our friends, and then headed east. We went north on SC-107 and cut over to SC-130, stopping at an overlook where we had lovely views of Lake Jocassee in the early morning light. We then took NC-281 and US-64 into Brevard, NC and then followed US-276 back into South Carolina. Right across the state line, we parked at the trailhead for Raven Cliff Falls at Caesars Head State Park. ...

          ... immensely thick, and you can see that many a pioneer from the early days could have become hopelessly lost in no time. Eventually came to a little town called Boone where we booked in to a Super 8 Motel for one night. Didn't check in straight away, but instead drove on up to the brewery. We discovered that this was smaller than we imagined and no sign that they did tours. Just had a couple of their local brews for the sake of it. ...
