Apparently I brought the wrong phone charger on the trip, and my phone was almost dead last night so I turned it off before bed to save the battery. When I turned it back on to check the time, it said it was 10 o'clock! I couldn't believe I'd slept 12 hours, much less that Addie had been that patient. But there it was. It took me about 10 minutes of rushing around to realize that the phone ...

After breakfast Sunday morning at the Sheraton we enjoyed a pleasant drive out of New York City and camped in Mystic, Connecticut. It's getting a little chilly in the tent but we are now on our way to another campground in Massachusetts and at least one more night in the tent - but we will have another big campfire tonight!

This was significant due to ...

We ticked off another NY bucket list item on Friday 22nd August as we made our way down to Penn station to board the Long Island Rail Road double decker train that would take us to The Hamptons for the weekend. To say I was excited is an understatement. Despite having left ample time to catch the train in true Shelbourn style we were pegging it to the station as the traffic was horrendous. Today, I left my home in Sag Harbor, NY with my
poodle Charley. I have decided to go on
this trip in order to rediscover the country that I once knew. I plan on going all over the united
states. I will be traveling in my camper that has a bed in the back for me to sleep in some nights during my trip. Today, I am on my way to my sons
      boarding school in Massachusets.
