    tWhat a huge room. After some of the tiny rooms, it was great to spread out and, a bath. Full marks to The Ilchester

    ... very pleased to see Barney. "Come here, dog." Barney and Mr Fisher played together for a few minutes, whilst poor Miss Washington was left holding the bicycle and a very empty blackberry pot. Barney and Mr Fisher then kept out of the way whilst Miss Washington gathered blackberries. Both of them knew that it was best not to interrupt a busy woman.     it appears that we have selected a bank holiday weekend to travel to Chester. We'll see what tomorrow brings

    tried to wear shorts again but it is still quite cool and long trousers and vest are still required along with the obligatory brolly. Apparently that it no different to Adelaide at present. I wonder now why I left my auto watering system on?

    ... It was built in 1601 by a Mr Phelps who was the chief prosecutor in the Guy Fawkes trial.

    We had a great lunch in The King's Arms Inn before the visit which allowed us to walk off the lunch in the house and gardens. I loved the garden with its wonderful borders of plants etc

    It's raining, it's pouring, and somewhere there must be an old man snoring - but not in this house! It's the day before we travel to Scotland, and there's lots to be done: Washing, ironing, runner bean picking, sorting out cameras, batteries, lenses, and all sorts of other gadgets and gizmos.
