Historical Traveler Reviews The ICON Hotel & Lounge Prague

A by all means Unique Hotel!

    August 2007, Thessaloniki, Greece

We stayed at this beautiful hotel for only three nights, but we could stay for ten more days, if we had the chance! Very personal hotel with friendly and helpful personnel. Great beds and delicious allday-long breakfast! Highly recommended for everyone who visits Prague and wishes for an unforgetable stay!

Cucina e cocktail eccellenti. Ottima musica. Se visitate Praga dovete assolutamente provarlo. Scrivetemi pure per informazioni.

La migliore esperienza possibile per viaggiatori esigenti

Albergo molto ben pensato. Personale eccezionale, ben addestrato, molto cortese, e mai invadente. Altamente raccomandato, arricchisce l'esperienza a Praga.

Again, I (we!!!) was (were) very impressed. Best hotel I´ve seen in Prague

Two weeks ago, my girl-friend and me spent some time in Prague. I know The Icon from a former visit.

And now, I want to share this great experience with the woman of my heart;-)

We have two nights on those fabulous Hastens beds, relax three days in Prague and enjoyed the all day breakfast and the excellent skills of all employees.

Especially the GM, Nah-Dja and his Resident Manager, Stanislav are the most fitting persons to those key positions.

They not only know every wish or thought of a gueat, the make them happen!!!

I / we will always come back with good memories and can highly recommend this hotel to all Prague visitors!

People, Service, Rooms, Location - A Jewel!

I visited Prague May 27 to 31 and truly loved my stay at the Icon. I booked only a night or two because I wasnt sure I'd love it but soon realized the jewel I happened upon and extended my stay. I'm sure there are a few excellent small boutique hotels in Prague with spectacular rooms and amenities like the Icon, but like many things in life, it comes down to people.

The staff at the Icon, every one I met, were kind, caring, genuine, open and helpful. My experience there ranks in the top customer service experiences I have ever had in any aspect of my life. Nah-Dja Tien, the manager, deserves much credit for not only the culture and energy of the Icon, but for finding and hiring great people who set the Icon apart. I was travelling solo and appreciated their kindness and help with recommendations on sites, restaurants, bars, clubs... directions... getting laundry done at the last minute before the next leg of my journey, etc. Everyone was a pleasure to interact with and surpassed my expectations for customer service. In fact by the time I left I felt a real friendship with some of them.

The Icon rooms were nicely designed, different, hip, clean and extremely comfortable. I slept great. The lobby bar and breakfast (all day) area are a nice touch and I appreciated the use of free Internet access. I had some lower back pain from all the walking I did and the Thai massage I had was really amazing. The location, 4 minutes walking to Wenceslas Square, 8 minutes to Old Town Square and just a few more to the Charles Bridge and the Castle, seemed just right to me.

Prague is absolutely gorgeous and the Icon helped make my experience of this city and the Czech people very special. I hope to return soon and will definitely look for availability at the Icon.

    Best Experience for funky travellers

Very well thought off hotel. Great attention to service, design, sleep. All rooms have Hastons beds, the best in the world. Theatrical lobby that makes feel like home. Amazing staff, weel trained, very polite, yet not on your face.

All day breacfast!!! Why no one did this before??

Highly recommended, adds to the experience of visiting Prague

    Amazing and unique hotel

i have stayed in zillions of hotels but the Icon was truly a superb experience. Location is smack in the middle of old Prague. The staff is incredibly friendly, helpful and efficient. Chic and trendy clientele. Fabulous cuisine and cocktails. Great music. If you visit Prague you MUST give this place a try. Feel free to email me.

    Cologne, Germany

    Perfect Personal Perfection!!!

Stayed three night at The Icon Hotel in Prague and from the moment of arrival (lady bellboys, sorry bell-ladies) to whole day breakfast,

the personal reception by the manager, the modern interior and the suberp location makes the Icon the best place to stay. Connection for

Ipod and Apple computers (finaly a hotel in Prague who uses/offers Apple compatability). They have the best beds I ever slept on in a hotel, they told me that the Kind of Sweden sleeps on the same bed!

    I will return!!!

    24hr Bus Ride

A travel blog entry by tnanoble on Sep 05, 2015

A nice long sleep in prep for the long day today and we quickly ducked down to the shops to grab some food for breakfast and meal prep a few things for the 21 hour bus ride. We got back, had breakfast, cooked up plenty of boiled eggs and checked out before walking down to the station across the road and waited for our 1100 departure.

The bus arrived about 1045 and it was a fight to get onto the bus with the company having first come first served basis for the seat selection. ...

... catch up. Prague being our second ex-soviet city, counting east Berlin as our first, there was definitely much more evidence of the old ways with a lot of run down and abandoned buildings. That being said, those areas were pretty isolated to industrial areas and the remainder of Prague was absolutely beautiful. We found our hostel pretty easily and were greeted by a very friendly staff. Hungry from our journey, we found ...

... thought maybe somebody reading this might have experienced it and have some tips for me. Our hospital visit for Che’s stitches to his knee was ok…but it didn’t give me a great sense of faith in the Spanish medical system. So I was trying to wait to get back home to go to the doctor if necessary.

I know that was a long blog entry; I hope I didn’t make you grow a beard, as Anya would say!

... I also ate a potato on a stick and it was everything I ever wanted. After a few hours on the bus we ended up in Berlin. Fun fact: Berlin is huge. We managed to only get turned around once on our way to find our hostel so that was a huge success. I am now sitting in my bunk and I'm excited to check out the city tomorrow. Also the internet here is non existent... So I'm not sure when this will actually be posted. Don't forget to check out the Prague ...

This has resulted in what appears to be a bizarre mix of large, painted apartment blocks ranging in tone from a delicate, soft creamy yellow to the more challenging bright orange or burnt umber. ...
