      ... a dog came up and sat beside me. And then another one. Maybe I was silently saying 'dogs be with me', I don't know...they literally came and sat on me. Once I talked to the owner, I discovered it was 'their wall' and I wad sitting on it. I got put in my place!  By the time they got up, I was in much need of food and warmth...my bum was numb. Not that you need to know that.  I walked back to a carvery and had the best roast dinner I've ever ...

      Now, do we book before we go or shall we see how the mood takes us? A leisurely meal at mine to mull this over and complete the 'visa' or whatever it is, to get us into the country planne din the next couple of weeks.

      Day 1 Train trip to Disneyland. My first big miscalculation. There are a lot of children. Small and very noisy. I had thought that they would all be at school........ However there are pre-school kids. What on earth their parents are doing bringing them to Disneyland is a mystery to me. They will simply not be allowed onto Thunder Mountain!! Note to self. Invest ...

      ... on being away for around 2 and a half months and would like to visit Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam as well as Thailand. I have no set in stone plans yet, apart from a hostel booked for the first few nights. I'm just going to go with flow and hopefully see lots of amazing places, meet some great people and eat lots of different types of food, I do love my food.

      ... to me; I surveyed the WWI, WWII, and Cold War uses of the castle. In WWI, the grounds were used to construct a Fire Command post which the military would spot approaching ships, planes, and friendlies from. Apparently, German artillery was able to fire over 30 miles and hit the coast. Dog fights frequently happened over the channel as well, and it was vital to pull surviving pilots from the water and put them back in a plane, as pilots ...
