    Made it to New York. Always a challenge when heading to USA to get through the grilling before you check in. I apparently looked a little risky (was it going via Turkey for only 2 days that alarmed them??) so had to endure checking of data by numerous people in queue before checkin. Rosa think back to London 2009 going to Philly but more checks!! …

    ... would be some new and light(ish) Chinese for me to take to the apartment. He said I should try soup dumplings. I stopped at my favorite Tea Time and then had no trouble finding the soup dumplings for later. So good! I definitely had enough Chinese to last me for a while, but the whole trip was everything (and more) that I had hoped for.

    To the airport on Tuesday and headed South. Next!!

    ... night and dozens of theatres and giant TV screens. I understand what they mean when they talk about the garbage in New York! It is piled up all over the place and it must be truly awful when the garbos are on strike. We had a giant pretzel from a food cart for lunch. Not bad but I'm not sure I would bother having another one. There were lots of vendors on the sidewalks and I managed to pick up a nice little leather shoulder bag for $20. The guy actually asked me if I was from ...
