Great little inn on the river a short walk from Interlaken West station. Laid back atmosphere. Room was nice with great view of the Bernese Alps from our window. Restaurant terrace is a great spot for a drink while watching the Aare river roll by. Good value for the money if you're looking for a spot with some local character.

We arrived in Interlaken shortly after noon and checked into our hotel …

'The Great European Hot Chocolate Taste Test' continued and the Belgian coffee shop we visited produced a fine specimen, however it came in a close second to the Luxembourg competition.

... found an outdoor seating place that offered great pizza, fish, and noodles. Corbin had a little trouble with the unusual combinations as French fries and ketchup was not on the menu. He made up for it later when we eyed an ice cream store nearby. If not for bombing fireworks we would have all slept a bit better but you catch shut eye whenever you can. Having trouble downloading all my pics but hope Jesse can handle this problem ...

Today I had breakfast with Anne. She took me to a lovely little place. It was so good to catch up after 13 years and even though lots has changes it didn't feel like 13 years had passed. Then I had a nice walk along the river to the train station where I hopped on a train to Lucerne, a small town just out side of Zurich in the Alps. The weather was ...

... I would smile and she gave me nothing, just a blank stare. Awkward. But then at one point about 10 minutes in, our carriage stopped next to another carriage going down the other way and they had their window down like us and said hi and waved, and she smiled and waved back and said HELLO!!!!! They were strangers by the way. What??? I was stunned. And annoyed. So I made a point to really pick up the conversation with Ollie ( he was wondering what on earth ...
