Great little inn on the river a short walk from Interlaken West station. Laid back atmosphere. Room was nice with great view of the Bernese Alps from our window. Restaurant terrace is a great spot for a drink while watching the Aare river roll by. Good value for the money if you're looking for a spot with some local character.

Then I had a nice walk along the river to the train station where I hopped on a train to Lucerne, a small town just out side of Zurich in the Alps. The weather was ...
... I would smile and she gave me nothing, just a blank stare. Awkward. But then at one point about 10 minutes in, our carriage stopped next to another carriage going down the other way and they had their window down like us and said hi and waved, and she smiled and waved back and said HELLO!!!!! They were strangers by the way. What??? I was stunned. And annoyed. So I made a point to really pick up the conversation with Ollie ( he was wondering what on earth ...
... we Skyped Lou and Olley to catch up on our news (we had to move up to the recreation area to get an adequate signal) for the first time, so that was great. (The wonders of technology!) Not sure what tomorrow will bring since we did not have the wonderful sunset this evening and we could have some rain overnight. Never mind, we have had a day to remember for the rest of our lives which is what this trip is all ...
