Great little inn on the river a short walk from Interlaken West station. Laid back atmosphere. Room was nice with great view of the Bernese Alps from our window. Restaurant terrace is a great spot for a drink while watching the Aare river roll by. Good value for the money if you're looking for a spot with some local character.

... have taken that trip even though we had to double back and go another way. We decided to head straight for Lucern now as it was getting late in the afternoon.
Lucern is a large town surrounded by mountains on all sides. The girl at our last accommodation described it as "a chicken in a nest". Lucern possesses a beautiful lake of it's own. We find our accommodation which overlooks the lake and settle in. Paddle steamers pull up at ...
... Very much our type of place. We had lunch of quiche lorraine - obviously a local dish - washed down with the local white vino. The restaurant was quaint, with tables set outdoors in a cobbled courtyard. We then drove the short distance to Ribeauville which was not quite so atmospheric, but we were taken with the storks nesting on the roof of one of the buildings. After buying some of the locally ...
