So much to see in such a small area, we were blown away by all the sights, especially the Orchard Road strip where there are dozens of huge shopping malls and literally thousands of name brand stores (i.e. Hermes, DKNY) as well as Harvey Norman and myriads of smaller shops. ... Penang only this time we had the bottom beds so more headroom to actually be able to sit up. Arriving in Johor Bahru at around 5am we had our passports stamped by Malaysian immigration before heading onto the causeway across the Straits of Johor and into Singapore. ... shopping paradise with countless huge department stores, leads to the Botanic garden, which I personally only ran through. I enjoyed more Chinese gardens, which get much less visitors as located a bit off the centre, but easily accessible by MRT. A stroll around Kampong Glam, Muslim area, especially nearby Sultan Mosque is a treat for eyes. ... in a dormitory with 30 girls from Singapore who I can't speak to.

So we took the boat to St John Island (just 7km off of Singapore), and went to the site of the course...which is pretty, but used to be a prison!!!! (with big scary fences all around, so we were literally trapped in for the duration of the course). As soon as we arrived, everyone became really silent even though it was not officially started, so it was a bit frustrating to have no idea what was ...

... day. That, along with a 30 hour flight plus 12 hour jet-lag plus long conferences each day really wore me out.

But, it was worth it!
