... experience is Singapore apparantly!) We had fun anyway!. We also visited the amazing Asian Civilizations Museum to be toured around by an English guy who could not be more excited about Asian history if he tried, turned out we didnt know much about the history of Asia and its religions! We found it all extremely interesting and it set us up well for exploring the rest of South East Asia, having some knowledge now under our belts!

We then walked ...
Singapore, Singapore tom-and-carolyn... 50 000 and thought "who buys things like that?" Later that same day we were walking along a market street in China Town, KL, and were astounded by the vast amounts of absolute rubbish being sold and thought “who buys things like that?” There must a be a profitable demand for both. Just seems crazy how much stuff we buy, use, replace, throw out, etc. Commercialism's ugly face is all too clear.

Singapore, Singapore limerick1976... it's as fake as that). She frequently has mood swings and yesterday she told us off for not cleaning properly after using the toilet. She was effectively telling us not to use toilet paper as that clogs up the drains. Naturally, we were affronted by this and Emily and Lucy gave her a stern telling off, explaining that the sanitary conditions of the toilet are already substandard (which in all essence they are) and that we wouldn't want to touch her toilet paper with a ...
Singapore, Singapore apoc100... a few different shows, and walking trails. We though the whole thing was going to be pretty cheesy but after numerous recommendations we checked it out and weren't disappointed. The variety of animals were quite different than in the US and we were able to see most of them at least for a brief period of time. I think we were probably most impressed with the size of the bats as we ventured through one of the trails. I seriously had no idea that bats could be that big nor ...
Singapore, Singapore aliciay98... Pearl for sale in the duty free shop for the low price of somewhere along the lines of $38,000 US dollars. Still I've never actually seen a real one in existance until today. Oh and Singapore has a great LCDH for those of you who might care about something like that. Cheers! Luke Out! Not much else to say really except the we saw X-men Wolverine Origins today, and it was pretty enjoyable. After that... well I smoked a cigar and it was glorious!
Singapore, Singapore surgeongeneral... but it was good. Day 54 April 5th (Sunday) After breakfast we walked across the street and caught our tickets for the "Hop on and Hop off" bus which takes you all around the city. The skies are dark so there is going to be some rain. The first stop for us was the Fire Department Museum and we learned how the department developed from the very beginning. We were also looking for the stamp museum but missed it in our travels. We then hopped back on the bus after the ...

Singapore, Singapore johannajulien... neat to see, but we were a bit put off by some proselytizing Buddhists. This was unusual because Buddhists aren't typically very Evangalistic, but it was funny when one of them asked Derek if he had a hole he needed filled.

If you are into Buddhist philosophy or simply enjoy cultural relics, you can check out my Buddha necklaces at www.loveliesbylindsey.etsy.com
Singapore, Singapore linzstoker... Road to spend the afternoon shopping. Saw a stunning exhibition called 'The Earth From Above' -- aerial photography by Yann Arthus-Bertrand. Visited the Christmas world and other shops then took the MRT to Merlion Park, Raffles Landing, Parliament House, and Clarke Quay. Finally to Boat Quay for a kebab tea and back to the room. Very sore feet. Over 30,000 steps and seven hours walking. The weather was warm in the morning but showers promptly at 3 PM.
