... on the chilly temps, it wasn't surprising I appeared to be the only one hiking at the park today although there were plenty of frozen shoe/boot prints in what was left of the snow. .....or should I say "ice". The trail was a bit tough to hike due to all the uneven ice. Previous hikers had left prints in the melting snow which refroze into a mess ...

... all provides global Special Air Mission (SAM) airlift for senior US leaders. It was transferred to the 932 AW, Scott AFB, IL before being retired to the museum in 2011. Although the aircraft was 37 years old when it was retired, it only had a total of 16,300 flying hours, ......not much by airlift standards.

The first hike on my list was the Gordon's Pond trail. It is 2.65 miles, one way, so over 5 miles for the full trip, but it's just inland from the coast so was very flat.

This was a fantastic place! This campground was right next to the Indian River Inlet. Next to the campground was the Indian River Bridge. This is one of the most beautiful bridges I have ever seen.
