We left Sandy Hook at about 11:45 am to make sure we were getting into Cape May the next morning at low tide for the bridges and to go up the Delaware with the tide. It was a perfect night to cross. The waves were three feet to start and they lessened as the night went on. There was no moon until 2:30 am and it was a small crescent only, but it was a clear night and not too cold and we had all the stars to accompany us. ... there when you know where to look and have some binoculars. Met 3 different couples on the boat who had been to NZ last year and know more about our birds than we did.

Monday: We headed off for 2 nights at the Seaview golf resort for George to have a golf and car fix.

The trip to the Niagara Falls has been abandoned and we'll go to Cape Cod via the Hamptons (Long Island) instead.

This morning, woke up at 7:00am and Legend was ready to go outside. Beautiful brisk morning. I have on pants and jacket. The sun feels good! Legend is getting used to going to the bathroom with cars buzzing by on the highway. Jess and I spent some time today at the outlet mall next to the hotel browsing. ... walk to the nice, sandy beach that wraps around the Cape and we have bikes to cruise around in. Perfect.
Today we cycled down to the lighthouse and went to one of the bird observation sites. This area has wetlands and vegetation that are enjoyed as a stop-off point by migratory birds.
