Victorian seaside escape

... and learned about the Coast Guard festival coming up in a few weekends (just missed it!). It was wonderful to spend time catching up with Heather, while the waves crashed along the shore. The tall grasses and sand dunes are just like Cape Cod - it's easy to understand what drew them to this small Victorian town.

After much deliberation, we settled on the Blue Pig Tavern at Congress Hall for a delicious dinner in a cozy setting (see picture below).

... hikes are in 12 different parks that stretch the length of the state (not that Delaware is very long.....and even less wide). Of course I will be completing all fifteen trails :) Thought it would be a great way to get to know my new home state.



Killens Pond is the park closest to "Base Camp" - only about 20 minutes away.

Air Mobility Command (AMC) Museum

... all provides global Special Air Mission (SAM) airlift for senior US leaders. It was transferred to the 932 AW, Scott AFB, IL before being retired to the museum in 2011. Although the aircraft was 37 years old when it was retired, it only had a total of 16,300 flying hours, ......not much by airlift standards.

This was a fantastic place! This campground was right next to the Indian River Inlet. Next to the campground was the Indian River Bridge. This is one of the most beautiful bridges I have ever seen.
