Travelers World RV Park

A travel blog entry by gnys on Jan 26, 2015

Checked in to the rv park and gentleman working the desk actually was from Owensboro. Hadn't lived there for a while but knew of moonlight BBQ. Small world. Rode metro bus ($1.20) to river walk and went to Rita's and had 6 oz margerita followed by a 32oz texas margerita. Had sour cream chicken enchiladas and guacamole that was made by our waiter at our table. Yum ...

Whilst most of the drive was along freeways we passed through farming country with horse ranches and cattle before entering the park. Ray Roberts Lake State Park has a 29000 acre reservoir supporting many water activities. The weather was nice and sunny but the wind kept it cool - about 16. The park has many camping sites allowing for walking and ...

We took a 40 minute car trip to the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District - cattle and cowboy country. On arrival Larissa asked what was the smell before we opened the car doors. Of course it was the poo of the cattle and horses. The Stockyards were once the biggest and busiest cattle, horse, mule, hog and sheep marketing centre in the southwest where more than 160 million head of livestock were sold. ...
