Hey, Well here I am and I have managed to get myself logged into this page, I'm doing well. The trip so far has been fantastic, I'm so glad to be here. The only thing missing in this country is Phil! The flight i dreaded but it turned out not to be so bad. The airport was hard saying goodbye to Phil but its not for long. I had no one beside me on …

The Hermitage Hotel

We stayed at the Hermitage hotel 'chalet' for 2 nights. The chalet are only about 5 mins walk from the main hotel, which houses the Activities desk, 3 restaurants and other amenities. Our room had 2 double beds, fully equipped kitchen and unsurpassed view of the Aoraki mountain range from our huge glass windows. Though I do not remember telling the hotel that we are on our honeymoon, our room was automatically upgraded to include breakfast, and a warm note welcomed us!
The chalets are perfect for honeymooners, as they are away from the general crowd (though Mt cook village has a population of only about 300 in summers, 100 in winters). The pricing for the hotel is a little steep , however, I would love to come back here!

This is a well run and appointed operation. But as it is the village it charges are very steep for what is offered. the dining options are limited from the cheap and nasty but pricey pizzas in the backpakers to the exclusive reastaurant at the other end.
