For each main course there was a second choice. The food was pretty good. Certainly they fed us well. There was no charge for alcohol. The flight attendants are quite nice, an absolute ray of sunshine compared to American air hostesses!
The flight home was not as long as going. But the cool part was that we landed at about the same time, on the same day, as when we left. Too bad all air travel isn't like that!
... traffic. We made plans to meet later on.
That evening I went to meet Brian, Susan and Troy down the street from my hotel, and we went to a restaurant nearby. We had a prime spot next to the fan, which helped alleviate the humidity, and we decided to share a bucket of samsong (Thai whisky) and red bull to accompany our meals, while drinking which we made sure we got lots of obligatory "look at us drinking a bucket" photos. After this, we went to a 7-Eleven ...
... four hours jet setting from Boston, to NYC, Abu Dhabi, and finally arriving in Bangkok only to arrive to the hostel at 9 AM, where others from my program were already staying. I met them. And I was back out the door off to the JJ market. We quickly got lost amongst the rows and rows of stalls, each as faceless as the last, many of
them selling the same exact mass produced souvenirs and many others. But luckily many of them had unique items ...
... no huge queues. We were about 6 there when the doors openned!!! By 10:30 I had submitted the application and was told to return on Monday 3 pm to pick-up the visa. As I had just arrived last night and wasn't sure where to catch the river boat I decided to take a taxi. Same story . . . the taxi drivers did not want to use their meters and wanted to charge me from 200 to 300 bahts coming up with all sorts of stories. I finally found one that would use his meter and the ...
Bangkok, Thailand bowtie... of touts and people that are out to make quick cash from tourists. everyone asks "how long have you been in Bangkok". this is part of the scam, if you say that you have just arrived then you are screwed, always state that you have been here for a week. that should settle the problem quickly.
Really enjoying it and can't believe that i am leaving Bangkok on Sunday, but going over the boarder to Cambodia!!! the fun and action never stops.

This common-looked coconut cost 60 baht and that was seen as expensive for a coconut.
Honestly, it did worth the costing of 60 bath as it was uncomparable with the ones I usually bought in my hometown.

2. The mental math involved in converting Vietnam currency into USD is challenging. We are lawyers so this should not be too shocking.

... that I would like to share with you all that we have had to make adjustments to, but most are humorous and we have easily adjusted to them after a hearty chuckle:
- There is no such thing as milk from an animal here (cow, goat, chicken, etc) It is all soy milk. It takes a bit to get used to. It tastes like milk that came from a bowl of cereal.
- There is no such thing as a clothes dryer here. Everybody washes there clothes and then puts them on a rack outside ...
... home any cobras or Thai women when we return. It's pretty hot and muggy here (not complaining, just reporting). It's a pretty cool looking city from the drive in. We're excited to go check it out tomorrow and Saturday before heading to Vietnam. We grabbed some beers from the lobby in an attempt to jumpstart our comas and the general getting-over-jetlag process.
Bangkok, Thailand wjford... and I have the info I need from these guys - no serious work ethics to be found in the Thai population I guess..at least not when tempted by whisky.
Hidden across the road under a multi-hued parasol, a protection against the fierce Thai sun, spoononig down a huge bowl of noodle soup while waiting constantly scanning the hotel gate....and yes right on top of the time given to me by the security guys - really..a ...
