Today I am annoyed, because I have realised that I cannot download any of my pictures from my camera, since I had naively assumed I could plug the memory card into my computer and it would read it, but it will not, and I did not bring my installation software, based on this assumption, and I don't even remember where I put the installation software ('in a box' is the usual answer...) so I will not be able to access it until Easter when I am back in Newcastle, which is really annoying ...
Geelong, Victoria, Australia wayfaring... went to VIC Roads (DMV) to transfer ownership of the van and set up an account for mobile internet and phone. We left Geelong late Saturday afternoon to spend 2 nights in Dandenong catching up with friends and hanging out. We found a nice caravan park called the Dandenong Big 4 Caravan Park $33 per night - with a rec/computer room , kids playground, and 2 communal kitchen/barbecue areas with refrigerators, microwave, barbecues, TV, and large seating area.
Geelong, Australia waynenwendy... half an hour while the Customs officials decided what to do with my "exit card". It was dark as we followed the CFT through the gate and onto the Flying Angel mission bus into town. There, we wandered a while, hit a seedy internet cafe for half an hour and had an Italian meal. Much later than usual getting back - 23:30 or so.
Port Philip Bay, Australia pete-r... at mid point, and built a city via a competition. It was Blue Peter for grown ups, send in your design and we'll get the lads to throw it up for you. Think corn circles and straight lines and you have it. The main attractions are the Parliament, no not that type, a government Parliament and the national war museum..........for tourists. For locals the relaxed drug laws are a why they call it home. Because the parliament is based here the ...
Geelong, Australia bigusredus... a lovely wee Vietnamese place. Food was class, cheap as chips and face like a babies bum. Putty in my hands!!!! Melbourne, Australia claire_noel... we only made it about half way, but enjoyed many beautiful sights including hang gliders and kite surfers, one of which is shown here. The day after that we went inland towards "the bush" to reconnect with a family we met in Fiji and for Jon-Jon to have an official playdate. He was so thrilled that all week long leading up to it he kept asking, "Is my playdate today? I am SO excited!" Brad, Lucy (the parents ...
Geelong, VIC, Australia jon.tompkins... br>
The ferry itself was not cheap (A$58), but it was a new boat and a decent ride, all 35 minutes of it!

As you can see, the weather was still a bit "grimass" as Katie would say (grim), but at least we would be very close to our final destination of Geelong when we got over to the other side.

Sure enough, it was only about 30 ...
Geelong, Australia al_fey... then haven't you..." she just said it was going to cost me 300 dollars (that's alot!) and how was my holiday going and what was I doing here and where was I going. When I told her that I was trying to find my friend she even got her map out to try and help. Now that's what I call a positive booking! I mean, you wouldn't get that in the UK would you? Or am I being too cynical? But the best bit was yet to come - I ...
Port Campbell, Australia mcarenI had a couple of weeks doing not much in Melbourne.. my job lasted a grand total of 8 hours (3 hours training, and 5 hours on the job), so I'm still pressed for money, and am wanting to go for some fruit picking, but the nearest place costs loads to get to, from what I can tell. Settled into my hostel nicely, before Joe came along, and after a few days of.. again, doing not much, we rented a car and drove the Great Ocean Road. Was a good ...
Melbourne, Australia brypi... out to be the most enjoyable day watching England getting thrashed I have ever had! - 'We are the Army, the barmy Army.....' We stayed around for an hour after the play finished to the amazement of all the Aussie fans - good old boys! In the evening went for dinner with Neil and ended up in the huge Crown Casino Complex beside the river. Had a few beers, watched the cool light show and watched Nick and ...
