A long drive North
... we had 5 days out of 7 with no rain. Our first day took us to the Old Man of Storr, a ‘Lord of the Rings’ landscape, huge eroded towers of rock and cliffs. The towers had been formed from ancient land slips. After we’d all explored the strange black spires, Arch and I walked to the top of the cliffs and took in the view over the Sound of Raasay and beyond. Highlands day 3: Skye → Inverness
... Crusades. All that is known is that the fabric was died yellow and was silk from the Middle East (Syria or Rhodes), dating back to the 4th to 7th century AD. Scotland - Skye and Highlands
... for the real show stopping views to take proper pictures. We came across not only more fantastic lochs and huge mountains but also sheep galore – just casually crossing the road with no care if there is a car coming. We also had a fish and chip lunch on the loch in Portree a small fishing village which was lovely and took in the sunshine before heading back into the car for another drive.
