Finished the cereal we've had left over at the hostel. Walked to the car, filled up the tank just outside Edinburgh and headed towards Durham. Stopped on the coast after Dunbar for a few photos of the cliffs. Continued the long drive south to Durham. Arrived at The Sands car park at 2. I've seen Fire and I've seen Rain
... rain. I suppose the weather here has been on the news in Australia as large parts of the UK have been flooded. We were lucky as it was never that bad. A few roads closed due to flood but the caravan site just got soggy.
Also forgot to mention in the last entry that on Saturday when we left the cottage I had to spray the car windows with de-icing fluid. Sings of things to come. Must get the car anti-freeze ...
A York That´s Not New
... cool area of the city is a jumble of streets appropriately called the Shambles. Everywhere, the Xmas decorations anddisplays gave it a magical feel. Streets of ramshackle, though now wellrenovated, buildings house mostly gift shops, restaurants, and tourist-oriented attractions.
