        ... and had a rest. The next 300 and something miles I drove as Darren had a well-deserved nap – I guess I didn’t really know what to expect in Iowa but especially the second half was so beautiful with rolling hills, a crazy number of wind turbines and lots of green, lush grass. We also drove past 'the worlds largest truck stop' in Iowa!!

        ... bounding across the road...they were not afraid and stared at us as we took pictures of them. Next we saw what was possible a badger or wolverine...not sure, only saw it from behind.         Sheila and I left South Fork today at 7:00AM heading back to Iowa. Attached you will see a picture of Pike's Peak. Also in the picture is a speed limit sign from I-25. While I do not drive the maximum speed limit when pulling the coach, today was a bit unique. With the speed limit of 75 mph, we averaged about 20 mph. Our lesson learned ...

        When we got to Kearney we settled into a beautiful campground about a half mile from the river. The park ranger told us that, as we feared, the cranes were pretty much gone but she thought that there were a few whooping cranes still around.
