New Delhi, India georgesg99Arrival in Delhi, India Arrive Delhi and check into hotel. www.hanshotels.com This afternoon we include a city tour of the sights of New Delhi, a creation of the British Raj of the 30's, and includes the Lok Sabha (Parliament), India Gate, the Rajpath Qutb Minar and Humayan's Tomb. ACTUAL: I got into the hotel at 3:30 am after taking a taxi from Delhi airport and the driver couldn't find the hotel exactly. Who'da thunk that Connaught Place was so big? :) Anyway, they offered me a glass of man...
New Delhi, India jessica.maybarHi everyone Welcome to our 2nd part of India trip: Delhi. Witth Mumbai under our belt, we were now heading into the unknown... we had no hotel bookings for Delhi and no idea of what Delhi was like... although we had our guide book we were too busy having massages and jacuzzi's to sit down and formulate a plan. Priorities. It was a scary prospect. Just our train ticket. And a whole day on arriving to find accommodation and our bearings. At Mumbai we got on a 16:40 sleeper train which was due i...
Delhi, India mrsdpGetting up early again for our second attempt to see sunrise at the Taj Mahal - this time we were woken by the alarm clock and everyone felt much better if not exactly fighting fit. There wasn't a cloud in the sky, even more remarkably there wasn't even that much fog. What could go wrong? Nothing as it turned out. Rob had expected to be a bit disappointed by the Taj Mahal itself but even he had to catch his breath as we walked through the main gate. There really is little point trying to desc...
Bharatpur, India samuelkeysOur one day whistle-stop tour of Old and New Delhi was to be given by Dinesh, a most interesting chap. He had previously been in the jewellery trade and had only become after a guide after an old friend stole millions of rupees of gems from his hotel room and then disappeared. After contemplating suicide, he decided to learn Japanese and become a tour guide. He cheerfully declared all Japanese tourists to be mad and said 99 percent would take a photo of anything, "if they saw you take a sh*t,...
Delhi, India samuelkeysWell, we are back in Delhi. This is our 5th time here, and 5th hotel! This time it is the Hans Plaza, which was a fine hotel but had very inadequate help. Usually around 4-5 people standing behind the counter, with the only person who could do anything on the phone. Quite frustrating! We are mostly killing time today, as we have to leave for the airport by 9:00 p.m. and it is too hot for most sightseeing. We went to pick up our custom made suits, and aren't too sure we are happy with them. Th...

... vulnerable without them. There is nothing we can do about it, so we just have to trust, and plan what we will do with the weekend as he said we can come back on Monday to pick everything up. Walking here is quite a challenge. Our hotel is at the end of a narrow path as I mentioned before. The path is about 2 meters wide which is wide enough for a motorcycle to beep it's way through or a two wheeled cart full of bricks or sacks to slowly manoeuvre around ...
Delhi, India jasieniukrtw... main focus is to teach people who to meditate and control stress. They were having a weeklong meditation retreat in Delhi (southern Delhi, technically a subtown called Noida), at the end of November. But to top it all off, on the Friday they were going to have a concert, a sitar concert. In fact, they were going to try to break the world record with the most number of sitarists in one concert. So they were actively recruiting people, and the ...

According to Harsh Roongta, CEO, Apna Loan, the psychological environment that exists is not simply because of interest rates and property rates. The economic uncertainty and job losses have a far larger impact than the rates of property. It will help if property prices soften and stabilise." However more efforts are needed to infuse liquidity through increased ...
