... 11:00, and we could get out of the sun and head back to the hotel. After feeding, we wash them down with a hose, which is more for cooling them down than for cleaning. Most of them have even been taught to drink from the hose, by taking it with their trunks and holding it in their mouths. We do this usually twice daily - once in the morning and once again just before they go back to the jungle. When they go back, the mahouts lead Thongpoon, and the rest of the females follow ...

We waved him over and he was very happy to turn on his meter. He took us to where we wanted to go and dropped us off. We even gave him a little tip for turning on his meter! We are not Scrooges, we just know what is wrong and what is right. Imagine the out cry ...

Day 254: a train ride and a hotel

A travel blog entry by ursburs on Mar 02, 2012

... on that bus tomorrow (or day after), I'll now eat a minimum-credit-card-charge's worth of minibar-dinner and keep on reading... I love the guy's style. The way he writes and the way he travels and mainly that he prefers food over yet another buddha sculpture. I don't quite agree with his reflections on love and booze though... Anyways, the plan changed again, when power failed and internet wasn't working anymore ...
