... Aston which is described in the guide as being 'overrun with new housing', in great contrast to Brewood (pronounced brood) which is full of character and lots of historic goodies. Brewood originated with the building of a Roman fort on Beacon Hill to defend Watling Street. As you pass over Stretton Aqueduct you have an excellent view of the A5 which was originally built by the Romans. I must admit to a sense of great superiority over the teeming motorists below.

Day 8. After a morning spent fitting a cupboard door, with some difficulty, we drove back the lovely Spa town,Buxton. We called at the "Druids" to catch up on the news, water the plants and tap into the wifi. A trip to the supermarket was needed to stock up on supplies for the weekend. Slight hiccup at the check-in counter as the attendant tells me my luggage at 33kgs is 3 kilos overweight. Brief moment of concern until I remind her that she has not factored in the extra 15kgs that Malaysian allows for sporting equipment. Thanks Malaysian. Today I'm not feeling to bad the pain killers seem to be working. I've got an appointment in Milton Keynes at the apple store to sort out my iPad that has no storage left, soft ware glitch. Driving there is easy, getting out of the car is hard. Drugs have worn off. The guys in apple have my problems sorted in half an hour and I decide to see a movie, August: Osage County not a bad movie but not fantastic. But I was a bit restless and sore.
