It has been a wet old day from start to finish which we think is the first time that has happened during our entire trip! Not bad eh! We left our pretty little valley camp site and headed down to Carlisle. On the way we stopped off at Lockerbie which was the unfortunate site of a plane crash in 1988 after it was blown up by Libyan forces. There was a memorial to those lost that day, in the Remembrance Garden next to the church but just as we ...

Travelled to my ancestral town of Bishop Auckland and found the public cemetery. Spent an hour looking for Teasdales or Wilkinsons but had no luck. The waiter brings the bill, I hand her the card and now she can't talk to me so passes the credit card form requiring ...

Well that's it for Yorkshire. Will come back and do and see much more and walk the moors as they should be explored. Just stunning. Could quite happily have walked for hours taking in the scenery and the nature. Beautiful, just Love it.
Speaking of nature, I'm Now Listening to a great tit (such a rude ungrateful ********) who has really put the mockers on this short stay at Stony Moor and look forward to him ...

... for some tea. Not much was open or was having loud live music or karaoke. Eventually came across the Black Swan which served decent pub grub which satisfied our hungers. Managed to get back to cottage before nightfall, had a glass of wine and off to bed.
