Since there is a holiday in Japan right now where people come back to their home cities, the hotels were pretty full. We could not stay in our first hotel, the Green Rich, for more than two nights, so today we needed to leave the Green Rich and go to our next hotel, Kiraku, where the only rooms left were traditional Japanese rooms, with tatami mats and futons to sleep on. ... we were American. We told them we were from Canada and that we were on our honeymoon. They all cheered us. They were super nice and gave Lane an extra kabob which we didn`t even notice until we were about a block away. We went down another small side street and found another mini lantern festival where we got snow cones and the people there also asked where we were from. ... festival. There was so much food and people. Lane had a chicken kabob, fried chicken and some noddles. He was too full even for the snow cones that they had there. There was a sort of opening ceremony, where they would carry these large lantern shrines down the street. When they got to an intersection, they would turn them in a fast circle and then lift them up and down, then continue on their way. After that we looked into some shops and then caught the shuttle bus back to our hotel.
