Well, hello there paradise

... Bug-ong's gorgeous black sand beach. There are only about 5 guest houses here so we only see about 10 other tourists in our entire stay and pretty much have the beach to ourselves most days, bliss!

The island is about 40km long so we rent a bike and easily drive around the island in a day, taking in all the sights along the way. We do an early morning stop at the 250 m Katibawasan waterfall, followed by Macao Cold springs which ...

Market Place

... the culture, without engaging in the local foods. These market places are smelly, but it is there that a visitor can actually get a good idea of the culture in that area.

Buenavista is a small township and, therefore it doesn't offer much tourism. But the people there are wonderful. Some of the most caring and considerate people live there. A ...

White Water Rafting - Save your Voice

I'd classify myself as the average type. It's unlike the white water raft that's fun, smooth and breezy. This is in the Philippines to set the picture properly, so safety is really 'guaranteed'.

Take for instance the fact that it's down a raging river ...

Cagayan

After getting the bus back to Cebu my German friend Klaus and I jumped on an overnight ferry to Cagayan de Oro where he had been living for the past 7 years. This ended up being quite an OK trip compared to some of the nightmare overnight bus trips I had been on before. The beds were small but comfortable and the air conditioning was set to Arctic freeze but it had a nice bar with a live band and even video Karaoke on the rear deck. In the ...
