... Have I mentioned how awesomely nice they are...here are the things I learned. Fact #1: Always ask Dominicans about their family...they love showing you pictures and talking about them...especially their children. Fact #2: Just because a Dominican man is married and has a 2 month old son, does not mean he won't do his best to hit on you. Fact #3: Punta Cana workers are baller at pool, but are nice enough to let you play a good game against them if ...
Punta Cana, San Juan, Dominican Republic hevnlee... beautifully landscaped and has really nice open, beachy architecture. The restaurant is also open to the outdoor evening breezes and about 20 yards from the beach, but its night and I've yet to be awed by its incredible beauty (that comes tomorrow). For the most part, dinner passes quite uneventfully.
After dinner I immediately zonk out at 10 pm after 13 hours of traveling and 4 hours of culture shock.
End of Day 1.
Hi Everyone, I know that it's been a while since I wrote anything here, I've been busy and of course I was away on holiday for a week. So what was supposed to be a vacation to Cozumel Mexico turned out to be a holiday to Punta Cana Dominican Republic which was actually pretty awesome! I myself love the DR and this was my 5th time there and again loved it, though it was my first time to Punta Cana. We ...
Punta Cana, Dominican Republic myra77We landed safe and sound in the DR and are enjoying a relaxing 4 days together at a resort in Punta Cana. We are weaving in a block of schooling time in the morning and in the afternoon...otherwis e it feels like we are on springbreak and that we will be heading home in a few days. The kids are not always eager pupils, but overall we are settling into something of a rhythm. Ross and I are enjoying reading the kids books on the explorers ...
Punta Cana, Dominican Republic explorerjones... is fine by him...one reason for this might be his generally easy-going personality...another reason might be that over time I have demonstrated my talent at being our own best travel agent... anyway, several people asked my impression of Majestic Colonial, and I hope they will find the answers here...we liked it...it is a spacious well-kept resort complete with multiple pools, "lazy rivers", numerous bars and restaurants... the resort has ...
Punta Cana, Dominican Republic irenan... tried to learn how to windsurf. We also went swimming with sea lions, a highlight for me. It was a great trip, although the last day and the few days after were unfortunately ruined by both of us getting pretty sick...Montezuma's Revenge claimed its latest victims!
We spent time on the beach again, swimming in the sea for a change. We took a kayak out again earlier, but it was super windy and the water was too choppy so we gave up. The water's clear enough to see fishes swimming in it, by the way! After that, we went back for our usual ...
Punta Cana, Dominican Republic twiddly2As I mentioned before, I didn't do my homework. And the too good to be true price we paid for the week turned out that obviously there was a reason. May is the rainy season in DR. The day started out well - we hit up the beach and did some kayaking and swimming in the ocean and then headed to the pool where we planned to remain the rest of the day. But come later in the ...
Punta Cana, Dominican Republic bookitorskipitOn our first full day at the resort the weather was gorgeous - our soul intentions for this trip was to sit pool side and not move...utter relaxation...we managed to do a full day of this!
The pool was nice and it was the off season so it wasn't very crowded at all. Overall it was a great day and we enjoyed it very much.
We had dinner at the restaurant and this is ...
... of the country. It was actually the same quoted price whether we booked together or separate so we booked separately to make our lives easier. We had 2 separate reservations and so we were expecting 2 rooms. When we arrived we asked that our rooms be next to each other especially if they had an attached door that would be great. We were then informed that we were put in a room together. We were told that they don't allow singles and that ...
