Back in Newark for a couple of days before we head to Rome on Monday. On Friday we had a big walk and wondered through the city markets that are held on Fridays. Ellie has been nagging us to get her hair done so she booked in to a local hairdresser and got it cut. We then went to Oscars, a local pub for dinner which was great. An open fire, a local jazz band (well couple of ageing rockers on the trumpet and clarinet singing ...
... decided on Lincoln for our day. We are getting used to the highways and the speed the cars drive - we sit on about 100km/hour but the audi's and Mercedes that they drive here fly past us doing 150km/per hour and make us look like we are not moving at all - this is all with wet snowy roads. A little scary but im sure we would be doing the same if we were used to it.

... amp; Lauren did their teen version of Boston sightseeing. Millie & Abbey had a ball and got spoilt by Maddy, Tanita & Carroline.
It was a perfect way to spend out last day in Boston.

Wow what a night!
After facebooking an event to hopefully meet some of my British family for the first time we were utterly taken back by at 40-50+ strong turnout. Walking through the door to the Burton House Restaurant we were anxious, nervous and not sure what to expect then all of a sudden it was like the pages I see daily on facebook had come to life.
It was fabulous to also see the Smith side of the family finally meet the Rowe side ...
... park. Matilda’s highlight was finding some draught horses to feed. We walked along The River Trent until we came to Newark Castle. It is a ruined castle that was built in the mid-12<sup>th</sup> Century. Amazing to think that the castle was demolished in battles and rebuilt a couple of times before Australia was settled by Europeans.
