I got an early start today, knowing that High Level was slightly less than the halfway point between Edmonton and Yellowknife, and wanting to reach Yellowknife before sundown. The first hour was pre-sunrise, and that meant being on a bit more guard than usual for roadside wildlife entering the road. Fortunately I had no such roadway incursions, and then it was a lovely sunrise with outside temperature ...

We went around the Royal Island, which is formerly called the Eagle Island. The name was changed when Prince William and Kate were here on their honeymoon. *snicker*snicker* I'll refrain from commenting further on the subject.

Checking Out of Yellowknife Inn
I just couldn't get up in the morning. I slept until 10:15am today and only had about 45 mins to shower and check out of my room since check out time was 11am. Good thing I didn't unpack much the night before, so I was able to get to the front desk on time.
Maybe because I have worked in hotels before, I am more aware and considerate of these things.
