... Thanks for following along, it's been fun and gratifying to know friends and family have been on the trip with us.

Many have commented it was "the trip of a lifetime". Well, yes... but we hope not, more one of our trips during our lifetime. We're already thinking about where to go next.

... for history to preserve. Interestingly, as the rooms were decorated with precise realism, all loose objects were nailed to tables or walls as things must get taken. We enjoyed exploring up steep stairways, along ramparts, peaking through crenellations and peering through death holes. A school excursion was on and the kids were loud, particularly when they swarmed us in the dungeon, but overall the castle was relatively empty, the summer tourists all hibernating ...
