... final hunt was on the 31st. The Atherstone hunt met at the kennels. This time I rode Ben, a bay cob. I was quite nervous as I hadn't jumped home before, and he was a bit more of a goer than George. But the first fence was a small friendly one and after that we were away. We covered a lot of ground and jumped probably 40 fences including some more great hedges. The antis were out in full swing following us over private land ...

Coventry is quite a small place really, it's easy to get around. The centre of the city is ensconced by a fairly busy ring road, with a series of tunnels to get foot traffic ...

The combination of last year's near washout and the closure of the city centre Travelodge meant that we left our Godiva 2013 plans flexible, keeping the weekend free but prepared to find something else to do, but a fantastic forecast and the arrival of our friend Tony from Brussels helped us to make our mind up and decide to come for the Friday and Saturday (that hedge won't trim itself though, so Sunday was out).
