    ... But a 1/2 day jaunt by Australian distances. I'd booked a cheap B&B as I would only be there 1 night and the next day I met up with a second cousin (or is that 1st cousin once removed??). Anyway, Marlene's grandfather and my grandfather were brothers. Marlene has always kept in contact with her "Uncle Billy", but this was the first time we'd met. After visiting for awhile over a cup of tea, we went to the Horwich Parish Church cemetery to look at a family grave. ...

    I now leave Clitheroe and move on a few miles to a tiny, but beautiful village at the edge of the Forest of Bowland (not a forest any more but some rather spectacular moors).     ... a music and fireworks extravaganza on!" Bugger! Plod on love, plod on. We finally saw signs for a site as we approached Garstang. Turned out to be a really nice site and as it was getting late by now we walked into town to find a pub to eat. If you are ever in Garstang, Lancashire, go to the Royal Oak Pub and have the homemade chicken and smoked ham pie. Lovely. ...
