... disappearing in the distance on our left. The bridge connects the NY and VT sides of Lake Champlain and Crown Point Fort ruins, museum, state park and Champlain Lighthouse are on the end of the NY side of this new bridge. We rode our bikes from the Champlain Bridge Marina which is located on the VT side and did a self guided tour. Everything is fairly quiet here so we enjoyed the freedom to move from place to place. ...

... We came down and had a look in the museum before hitting the road. We finally had to fill up the car - we'd done 350 miles since we started. That was interesting - you pay before you fill up. A large portion of this trail is a former Rutland Railroad railbed (stopped running in the 1960s) which includes a very long causeway across Malletts Bay. Many people were out riding on this beautiful sunny ...

Malletts Bay is a popular vacation spot with campgrounds and four big marinas. We chose Champlain Marina because Linda and Brian on Splashdown (met in Sorel) stayed here 21 days and really liked it. The cruise across the lake was beautiful even though it was hazy and breezy. ...
