A great but sad day in Norfolk

Another beautiful, hot day. After breakfast we drove to Taverham, where there is an incredibly large, well stocked, and well laid out craft/haberdashery store. Annie was still looking for Norfolk cross stitches. The problem is, she has done most of them in the past. But today she managed to find two, which we purchased. We then drove to North Walsham. There was a market in operation and we strolled both the market ...

Well today was one to write home about. The hottest July day on record (36.7). Everyone was focused on the heat. After breakfast, we drove to Stella and Wilf's home, and after a chat, drove to Ray and Joan's home. After a cup of morning tea, in the shade, in their beautiful garden, we drove to The Ferry House (pub). It is right on the river Yare, a very pretty ...

This morning, after breakfast, we drove into Norwich and looked around Chapelfield Shopping Centre. We had a pot of tea at a Costa outlet and then drove to The Rushcutter Hotel. This hotel is located on a river, and we sat there in the sun, under a large umbrella and had lunch. We were with Annie's cousins, Colleen and Joy, and their husbands John and Bob. The setting and food were very good and we had an enjoyable time. After lunch, we went our separate ways. ...

After breakfast we drove to Blickling Hall on a beautiful, sunny day. The hall itself was yet to open for the day, but we have visited there before, and our main interest was the magnificent gardens and grounds. This is a National Trust property. The cost for the garden only for non members is £8.10 each. We then drove to one of our favourite villages, Holt. There is a particular, little restaurant, Byfords, that we ...

Another Great Day in Norfolk

After breakfast we drove to Wroxham where we booked our trip on the Norfolk Broads. We booked tickets for the 11.30am trip on the boat Cordon Rouge (£8 each). We were a bit early so we drove to Wroxham Barn. Annie was looking for cross stitches with scenes of Norfolk but they were proving difficult to find. Again we had no luck. We drove back to Wroxham and walked around the village. We then boarded our boat and went on a most enjoyable 90 minute cruise. It rained ...
