... tower houses up on hill we were passing. Checked out a cemetery up near the tower houses - was full of little houses that had the crypts inside.
Drive down to the tip was just breathtaking scenery, rugged mountains, plungig down into the sea below. Bit sad at the end as this represented the further point on the trip - it's all homeward bound now.
Drove back up to Gythio, and spent the night in a restaurant carpark, right on the water ...
... and it is cheap! A cappuccino for me and a beer for Sam, €5. The water is and was divine! Small pebbles to walk on so it was easy & comfortable to walk on, not like St Jacobs beach. The water was refreshing and warm enough to make it really easy to get wet. No waves at all and crystal clear, it gets deep quickly and then it got so that we could stand in it again further ...
