We used to come to Langebaan in the early 80's when I was in the Air Force. If you blinked you missed the town. There used to be a boat on the lagoon called the Big Bunny... I think. ... night and went to "Die Stal", the local hangout, for dinner. R45 got me braaivleis consisting of a chicken sosatie, pork chop, wors, salad and a bun. The wine was only R10 per glass and it was not bad at all. Needles to say I had more than one Jameson after dinner ...
My first week at work went really well. After a great weekend I felt really ready to tackle whatever challenges were thrown at me, and to get me started I was invited to all the production, sales and services meetings to help me understand more about how we run things here in Paarl. So, after a good breakfast we hit the road to Langebaan which was wonderful, just to have the beamer on the open road again was excellent, although Janet had a ************ the back of the bike due to the strong Westerly wind and the fact that she was sitting higher than me.
