... and plenty of data all for the amazing price of $20 with no expiry. How the Aussie telcos rip us off! The plan for today was a solo venture reacquainting myself with the bustling but gorgeous city of chiangmai. Armed with a map and my awesome sense of direction I wandered through the streets to find the suggested Zion cafe. This place was set up by a woman who did bar missions, building ...

... journey to an elephant sanctuary. On the journey we were shown a heartbreaking video about how elephants have been mistreated by humans but also how they are being rescued by a lady called Lek who runs the elephant nature park. She has rescued over 60 elephants. Our tour consisted of a small group (10 people) and so we were able to spend lots of time with 5 elephants (so 2 per elephant). We started by feeding ...

Turns out we've had quite an eventful couple of days instead! In addition to investigating saffron and getting harassed by tuk tuk drivers at the market, we've also witnessed our first Muay Thai fight night and even cuddled some tigers, as well as found our favorite local watering hole (which is actually a truck).

... she saves cats and water buffalo too. Lek has been kicked, trampled, poked, and thrown; but she doesnt mind. She is on this planet to save the Asian and African elephants, and she is doing one hell of a job. One more thing: Don't ride elephants if you come here or anywhere else. Don't go to elephant shows where they are forced to do tricks. They are not painters and circus acts; they are gentle amazing creatures that deserve our respect and ...
