Historical Traveler Reviews of Clarion President Hotel And Suites Niagara Falls

Good service, but what's the deal with the parking fee?

from barista9
Hotel is between Clifton Hill and the Falls, good overall location. But beware parking ain't included with the room price and it is an extra 13$ per night!. The motel right to the east of Clarion offers parking for 3$ a day.

Excellent service from the employes, they stored our bikes in the basement and were nice about it.

Nice Hotel

from Truckerbob
This hotel is about a 10 min walk down hill to the falls area. The uphill walk on a hot July day is a whole new discussion :)

The hotel is very nice and clean with friendly staff. The parking fee ($13.00 canadian when we were there) is a bit of a disappointment. Get express check out as the lobby is full when it becomes check out time. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom clean. We would stay there again.

Very pretty place! Well kept, fabulous staff, close to all activities :)

A great little hotel. Not the monstrosity like some other places but well kept, and well managed. Beautiful lobby, nice indoor pool right at the front of the hotel and convenient restaurant off the lobby. Please note that it's under new management from when it was the Four Points Sheraton. It is now the Clarion President Hotel so any Four Points reviews wouldn't apply.

Great Family Hotel!!

We were quite pleased with this hotel. We were able to upgrade to a jacuzzi suite for a decent rate. Very clean, good service. Would stay here again. Wish it were a little closer to Clifton Hill.

Good price, nice hotel: beware the parking fee

from A TripAdvisor Member
We found this Clarion Hotel to be nice, clean, with friendly staff. Our price was good, and everything was in order.

Unfortunately, we were hit with an $11 parking fee when we checked out. Even though the fee was (to my surprise) mentioned on the check-in form, I felt I was bushwacked.

Buyer beware!

Just so so

This hotel was just ok. Room smelled a little musty, and it was a little farther from the night life then it was advertised to be. The pool was pretty much in the lobby which I found strange. Parking was very expensive. The breakfast buffet was expensive, and to me it didn't even look good so I did not eat there. The hotel across the street looked beautiful I think I will stay there next time. The staff also was not the friendliest. Pay a little more and stay closer to the falls.

Great and loved it

We stayed two nights at this hotel in summer '04. Great Hotel. Close to the new casino. Pleasantly surprised, the pool was open 24 hrs a day. Great for a long summer day. Pasta Bar was reasonable priced with good quality. Employees are very friendly. Will stay again without any doubts.

Terrible

from A TripAdvisor Member
When we arrived in our room there were no towels or wash cloths anywhere. We had to dry our hands with facial tissue. The toilet paper roll had about 10 squares left on it and there were no spare rolls in sight. Later in the evening, the toilet backed up. I called the front desk twice to have someone fix it and still no one came. Finally, I had to go to the front desk myself to ask for a plunger and extra towels to clean up the overflowing water. Thank God this nightmare only lasted one night.

Nice hotel but far from the falls

from fredangi
We'v stayed at the hotel July 10 for one night. It was a nice no frill hotel but the staff is not very friendly. The Bed & Breakfast rate is very reasonable (check Starwood.com). The breakfast buffet is nice and provides good variety. Beware of the hidden parking lot charge ($9) when it was advertised free parking online. The room is clean, quiet and good size. The fourth floor is designated as non smoking floor. The hotel is far from the falls though still within walking distance (not less than 15 min). It's quiet at night and it seems like a long walk from the falls especially when it rains. If you like more actions, you probably should choose something near or within the Clifton Hills area.

Happy with the Four Points

from A TripAdvisor Member
Sorry about the Valentine's fiasco one reviewer had. We stay at the Four Points Sheraton Airport twice a year and the only complaint we have ever had was that the rooms were too warm. Probably because we are in the pool area. The noise has always been gone by 11:00 at night with the security guards doing their jobs. Restaurant is great and location near shopping the best. Hope people will give it a try and be scared off by that one horrible experience.
